Category: accessible Devices
Hi all,
I finally have an accessible phone again! I bought the Lotus from a friend about a month ago and have been playing around with it, but it's a bit different from the other LG I had (the 5500), and I'm having some trouble figuring it out. I know how to get to all the menus, but when I go into, for instance, the "contacts" menu, I can't get any of my changes to save. I also tried to change my ringtone and somehow succeeded in not only setting my ringtone to this loud and obnoxious beeping sound but also turning off the talking caller-ID. This has since been fixed, but I'd love to know how to change my ringtone without that happening again. I'd also like to know how to prevent new texts from being automatically read. If anyone knows the answers to these questions or just has some general tips on using the Lotus, I'd love to hear them!
Thanks,
Becky
this needs to bee moved to the cell phone board
It has been a while sense I used that phone, as for the text messages, that can not be changed. That was only part I hated about the phone, no privacy when it came to getting a text. Buy ear buds.
I'll do that. Were you able to add contacts, send texts, change your ringtone, etc.? I haven't figured out exactly how all that works yet.

Oh yeah, I was able to do all that with that phone, check my call history, put in contacts, send texts, change ring tones. What I did was I took a glue stick and had some one put a dot on the j and b so I could find the letters faster. I could text much quicker that way.
Okay, I'm bringing this topic back to the front of the line because I have another question. I was randomly playing with my phone the other day, and somehow (I don't even remember how) I figured out how to add contacts, edit them, send them texts, and even change their personal ringtones. But having done all that, the personalized ringtones, as well as the ringtone I have set for unknown numbers, won't apply. My phone just makes the same chiming noise it always has, followed by Voice Guide speaking the name of the contact or the phone number if it is not in the contact list. I even had a sighted friend try to figure it out, but she couldn't. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it something to do with Voice Guide?
Thanks,
Becky
